Josh Otani is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of Big Valley Therapy, where he is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families cultivate growth in every valley of life. With a deep belief that understanding breeds healing, Josh takes an integrated and eclectic therapeutic approach tailored to each client’s needs.Josh earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Life from Brigham Young University and completed his Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Utah State University. His master’s thesis, "The Relationship Between Blame, Maladaptive Guilt/Shame, Couple Communication, and Relationship Satisfaction in Pornography Users," reflects his expertise in addressing complex relational dynamics.
Grounded in systemic thinking, Josh primarily utilizes Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients navigate emotional wounds, relational struggles, and trauma. His compassionate and research-informed approach empowers individuals and couples to access their true authentic Self and achieve lasting transformation.
